Aeronautical Engineers Australia Industrial Training

From time to time, we offer the opportunity to third or fourth year students currently undertaking a degree in aeronautical engineering at the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, University of Adelaide or RMIT University to gain industrial experience in our offices. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to accommodate requests for Work Experience Placements from students studying outside Australia or New Zealand.

Applicants wishing to do work experience over the summer period should forward their requests by August 20. Other applicants may forward their requests at any time.

AEA currently maintains five offices:

Perth
Our longest established office is located at Jandakot Airport with a staff of seven aeronautical engineers. Perth is the capital of Western Australia and is one of the world's most liveable cities and offers a vibrant but relaxed dynamic which is attractive to families as well as singles. Famous for its clean, modern lines, gorgeous waterways, and friendly people, Perth enjoys a Mediterranean climate of hot dry summers and cool wet winters.

Adelaide
A second office is located at Technology Park in Mawson Lakes in Adelaide with eight full-time engineers. Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and captures the essence of a large country town while supporting a creative and relaxed lifestyle which includes boating, a vibrant cultural scene and a huge variety of wonderful restaurants. Situated on the edge of the Simpson Desert, Adelaide shines like a star all through its changing seasons.

Sydney
In August 2000, AEA combined with HSJ Aviation and has since maintained its third office at Bankstown Airport in Sydney with thirteen qualified engineering staff. Sydney was the site of Australia's first settlement and the visitor can feel a sense of history from Circular Quay in the east to Parramatta in the west and on to the Blue Mountains. Sydney is a large and busy city which offers magnificent waterways and proximity to famous beaches such as Manly and Bondi, the Hunter Valley, and ski slopes as well as the Sydney Opera House and Darling Harbour.

Brisbane
Our fastest growing office is located in Clontarf, on the northern beaches of Brisbane with 4 senior engineers. Brisbane is the capital of Queensland, and offers a relaxed tropical environment in a modern vibrant city. Only a short drive away are the magnificent beaches of the Gold Coast, the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and the beauty of the rainforests. Famous for being the modern centre of aviation in Australia, Brisbane is the sunny place to work in Aeronautical Engineering.

Melbourne
Our newest office is located in Melbourne, with two senior engineers. Melbourne has recently been voted the world's third most liveable city, and boasts Australia's best food and shopping in a moderate temperate climate. The traditional centre of aviation in Australia, with Tullamarine, Essendon, Point Cook and Avalon airports near by, aeronautical engineers can expect many and varied projects.
