Aeronautical Engineers Australia is an approved design authority to certify aircraft repairs and modifications in Australian and Papua New Guinean registered aircraft. We can also gain design approval for most pacific rim jurisdictions, however our products and services have not been approved under FAA or EASA regulations. Customers operating in these jurisdiction however can be provided with a full approval package for submission to their local airworthiness authorities.
Before the approval of any repair or modification, all designs are analysed by our engineers, and if necessary, revised to ensure the safety and suitability of the design. AEA can also design the repair or modification to ensure the optimal result for your aircraft.

Aeronautical Engineers Australia is an approved aircraft design authority and aircraft weight control authority. Under Civil Aviation Regulation 35 (CAR35), AEA can certify any design, repair or modification work to Australian registered aircraft or foreign aircraft operating in Australia in the areas of avionics, propulsion, performance, structures, propellers and rotors, systems and equipment. We are also approved to CAR36 to certify aircraft components for use as replacements, all under Certificate of Approval No. AEB08/019.
We can also make findings of compliance for design changes to APMA parts under our authroisation 1-4V551 and approve changes to flight manuals under instrument CASA 45/08.
Additionally AEA is also an approved manufacturer of class II and III aircraft components and holds production certificate number 290424-1.
AEA is a CASA certified aircraft weight control authority with our engineers able to validate the weights of ultralights to A380s.

AEA is not certified to approve modifications or repairs for Aircraft operating in New Zealand. However, AEA can approve under CAR 35/36 modifications and repairs for ZK registered aircraft operating in Australia. AEA will supply an approval document package which is required to be submitted to the New Zealand CAA for approval when the aircraft returns to NZ.

AEA holds a Part 146 certification from the PNG Civil Aviation Authority under document number 146/003 to approval all repairs and modifications for PNG resistered aircraft for operations in Australia or PNG. For more information on PNG regulations, please click on the icon to the left.
